Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 7, 2026 · Last updated: April 7, 2026

Aprovement ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Aprovement website and mobile application (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we collect it, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices available to you.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account and Authentication Data

When you create an account or sign in, we collect your email address, authentication identifiers, and account metadata. If you use Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple, authentication is handled through Supabase and the selected identity provider.

1.2 Content You Upload or Create

We collect the content you choose to provide through the Service, including uploaded documents, question images, chat prompts, notes, flashcards, quizzes, generated answers, and other study content.

1.3 Audio Recordings and Transcripts

If you use lecture recording or audio features, we collect the audio you record, the transcript generated from that recording, and the notes or podcast content produced from that material.

1.4 Device Permissions and Local App Data

On mobile, we access the camera, photo library, and microphone only when you initiate a feature that needs them. We also store limited local preferences such as theme choice and whether you have granted AI-processing consent.

1.5 Subscription and Billing Data

We collect subscription status, purchase tokens, entitlement data, and billing metadata required to manage your subscription. Payments are processed by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat or their connected processors, and we do not store full card numbers.

1.6 Analytics and Technical Data

We collect usage events, device and browser details, approximate IP based network information, crash or error context, and page or screen interactions to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

2. How We Collect Information

  • Directly from you when you create an account, upload files, send prompts, record audio, or contact support.
  • Automatically from your device or browser when you use the Service, including analytics, session, and diagnostic data.
  • From service providers involved in authentication, subscriptions, storage, analytics, and AI processing.

3. How We Use Information

  • To create and manage your account and keep you signed in.
  • To store, organize, search, and retrieve your study materials.
  • To generate AI-powered answers, summaries, notes, flashcards, quizzes, podcasts, transcripts, and related study outputs.
  • To process subscriptions, restore purchases, and manage entitlements.
  • To detect abuse, secure the Service, troubleshoot issues, and improve performance and product quality.
  • To provide support and communicate service or billing updates.
  • To measure marketing and product usage where applicable.

4. AI Processing and Consent

Before the mobile app sends personal content to a third-party AI provider, the app displays an in-product disclosure describing what data may be sent, which providers receive it, and asks for your permission. If you decline, AI-powered features remain unavailable and that content is not sent to third-party AI providers.

Depending on the feature you use, the content sent for AI processing may include uploaded documents, document excerpts, question images, chat messages, lecture recordings, and transcripts. That content is sent only as needed to produce the requested output.

5. Third Parties We Share Data With

We share data only with service providers needed to operate the Service. We require these providers to protect the data they process using contractual, platform, or legal obligations that provide the same or equivalent protection appropriate to their role.

6. AI Model Training

7. Data Retention

  • Account data is retained while your account remains active.
  • Uploaded content, chats, notes, transcripts, and generated materials are retained until you delete them or delete your account.

  • Analytics and diagnostic data are retained according to operational needs and provider retention settings.

8. Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards such as encrypted transport, access controls, storage protections, and scoped database policies. No service can guarantee absolute security, but we work to limit access and protect the information we process.

9. International Processing

Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries where they operate. By using the Service, you understand that your data may be transferred to and processed in those regions.

10. Your Choices and Rights
